Social Media
Sharing who you are and your personal journey in STEM is an important part of preparing and participating in the SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference. As a community we believe that an inclusive organization is one where people feel empowered to their full, authentic selves. Simply put, everyone is welcome at SACNAS.
As you prepare for this year’s conference, we encourage both prospective and registered attendees to engage in conversation on social media with our official conference hashtag #SACNAS2020.

Together we… SHARE OUR STORIES

Use the conference hashtag #SACNAS2020 to share:
- What are you looking forward to at #SACNAS2020?
- What are your goals for #SACNAS2020?
- What advice can you offer first time attendees of #SACNAS2020?
Send us your responses by posting on all major social media channels, and/or send us a selfie video and we’ll share on SACNAS’ social channels!
#2019SACNAS is the first conference where I identified as #nonbinary. After the authentic self workshop a young scientist told me that I’m the first #trans person they’ve met with a #PhD and it gives them hope. Amidst my own search for truth, they also gave me hope. Science & culture! Before SACNAS, I spent my whole academic career being told culture had to be separate from my science. #2019SACNAS shatters these myths, supports its diverse members, & continually adapts to make an inclusive environment! #TrueDiversity #InclusionInSTEM pic.twitter.com/yedNSAZVxU

I can’t believe it took me this long to become a Sacnista. I’m sold.

Early career researchers: you need to be here.
Faculty/advisors: you need to pay for your students to be here.
Funders: you need to sponsor this.
Lucky you, there’s always next year!#2019SACNAS
Enjoyed #2019SACNAS so much - as I always do. It’s such a warm and embracing community. It’s a retreat, a reunion and confab. Can’t wait to see my folks next year at Long Beach! Get home safe SACNISTAS
